Piggy Bank Time is a concept coined by Vera Birkenbihl, a renown brain researcher, in her audio series Memory Optimizer. In short, piggy bank time is the moments you have throughout your day and week which are unharnessed but could be utilized to improve your memory… but not only.

What’s so good about Piggy Bank Time?

piggy bank Have you ever found yourself saying a sentence that started with the phrase, “If I only had the time, I would…”? But the problem is that you just can’t find a solid hour a few times a week to take up Spanish lessons, read War & Peace, or finish assembling that Death Star replica you got for Christmas in 1971. Oh… and I’m sure that once you became a parent you just had loads more discretionary time (note the sarcasm). On the other hand, there are dozens of little increments of time that slip by un-utilized daily.

What if you could use those moments of time? What if, every time a small snippet of time appeared, you were prepared for it like a Bavarian is for Oktoberfest? Perhaps things like learning line dancing would be hard to do in 5 or 10 minutes while waiting at the dentist’s office, but you could certainly make a dent into practicing your Spanish, getting a fews pages ahead in that novel, or just enriching your world with the sweet sound of the didgeridoo!

In other words, find the time to do all those things you want to do without clearing any extra time in your calendar to do them!
