I saw this post and I just had to comment on it.

In short, DaMomma is in a cafe and watches a mother handle her children very roughly.  She couldn’t take it anymore so stood up, walked over and talked with the lady and her children. If you want to know what she said, read the post. It’s worth it ;-)

It made me realize that being a parent is a lot harder than it looks. Very often, we have very crude ways of dealing with our children, especially in the beginning. As a person who would like to be a good parent, I am aware of the fact that I can improve. Others, as in the mentioned post, don’t seem to be aware of it. What would you do if you found yourself in such a situation?

I made a comment on the post which goes as follows:

It reminds me walking down a road on the outskirts of town once. I passed by a young but over-weight and alcohol-aged mother (I believe there was a home for abused women close by) walking with her child who was riding a bike. The child fell off the bike, and the mother started yelling the dragging him along. I thought to myself: there’s a person who needs some kind of lessons in parenting. It’s sad because neither the parent or child is better off with the present situation. But, what can you do?

What would you have done DaMomma’s situation?
